Blanche deveaux is an American author, poet, and environmental activist. She is best known for her writings about nature, but more importantly, for her thoughts about self-awareness. She has said: “We are all in this together, and it is time to stop pretending that we don’t care about each other, and start caring about ourselves, because we are all in this together.
In the trailer above, Blanche deveaux is a character in Deathloop. She’s a party-loving party-lovers with a strong environmental bent, so when she starts telling us about her plans to destroy the Visionaries, we can hear the gears turning in her head. To make it a little more fun, we’ve got a little cameo in the trailer featuring the character of the same name.
The game is set in a future where the world has been overtaken by some kind of alien technology and mankind is suffering, so that is basically the best way to describe it. The trailer gives us a little more insight into what Blanche has to say about it, though we don’t know exactly what happened to her.

As we learn more we learn that Blanche is actually a bit more of a badass than we thought. Blanche has a lot of cool powers, including being able to shoot lasers out of her eyes, and that’s a power that she’s not afraid to use. In fact, her powers are a lot more dangerous than we previously realized.
So far the only explanation we have is that Blanche used to be a member of an elite organization called the Legion. But that’s a bit hard to believe considering that the people we’re seeing in this trailer are supposed to be the Legion members. We also don’t know where in the game Blanche is, so it’s possible she was abducted by a gang of robots. Or, if we’re understanding this correctly, she was abducted by some kind of alien or alien entity.
I wouldn’t be so quick to dismiss this as anything but a bunch of speculation. I don’t think these things have ever been proven, and I don’t know that they would be worth the risk. I would, however, love if someone, anyone (besides the game designers) would just take a hint from Blanche and show it in a new trailer.
Well, maybe. But that would be a little premature at the moment, and we’re talking about a trailer that’s been in the works for at least a year.
I think Blanche’s quote might actually be a bit vague. I would think she’s talking about the idea of being able to summon a spirit or something from the beyond, but I don’t have that specific quote in front of me right now.
