quotes on activism

I’m a huge fan of quotes on activism. Not because they are that interesting or insightful, but because they are so true and applicable to us now as humans, regardless of our political beliefs. These quotes are simply the words of people who have made a difference in the world. Here are just a few.

“If you want to change the world, you have to be willing to die for it.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

I once asked my brother how he was doing after being diagnosed with an incurable brain tumor. He told me to keep fighting the good fight. He was right, and I’m so glad it’s not over. I’m just a little sad that I know there’s only so much I can do to change people’s lives.

It’s true that change can come slowly. But it can also come fast. Even as we type these words, the world continues to change, or at least get worse.

It’s also true that the only thing people can really change is their own behavior. But that’s not the point. The point is that even the change we are trying to fix will only take place if we change ourselves. Or, that change we try to improve will only have the power to make our lives better if we are willing to die for it.

The thing is, though, that even the change we are trying to fix will only take place if we change ourselves. Or, that change we try to improve will only have the power to make our lives better if we are willing to die for it.

I know the concept is a little abstract, but I can’t help but think that the idea that the only way to “change” is for me to change my behavior is actually pretty ridiculous. You can change your behavior, but you can’t change your behavior. So, as I’ve said before, I’ve been a little bit burned out on the idea to make an actual change in my life.

It is amazing how many people are willing to sacrifice their lives to change their behavior. While I cant go one step further than the phrase “only take place if we change ourselves”, I can definitely tell you that the idea that only if we change ourselves will we have the power to change our behavior is pretty ridiculous.

For years I have been living on the edge of my financial means by buying online. I bought a lot of stuff online and then when I was stuck in a bit of debt, I decided to get rid of a lot of things I didn’t need and sell them. This was a hard decision, and I have come to realize that some things you buy online are much more valuable than you think they are.
