I know there are many vegan-friendly restaurants in the San Francisco Bay Area, but I like to try new places and new things. I like to try new foods, and the most important thing is that they’re healthy.
You’ll notice that I didn’t say, “I love vegan food,” because I don’t really. I just like it a lot. There are some things I like, but as a whole, I’m just not a big fan of the term.
But, its okay. I can eat whatever I want if it has no artificial ingredients. That makes it ok for me, but its not ok for you. It is a problem with our food system and the media.
First of all, the term vegan is just a silly word. And second, it is not ok to use the term to describe something that isn’t vegan. For example, even if you are vegan, you could still eat fish, eggs, and cheese. There are plenty of healthy, natural foods that are vegan, and so there is no reason you should have to use the term vegan just because they are vegan.
It’s also a problem with the media, and the food industry in general. The term vegan just gives people the wrong impression of what vegans actually are. We are not vegetarians. We are not celibate vegetarians. We are not vegetarians who can’t eat any animal product. We are not vegetarians who are vegetarians, vegan, and non-vegan. We are just vegans who are vegan. And so on and so forth.
I think it’s really hard to define a vegan diet. It sounds like a lot of people are just so unhappy with the current state of the world that they think the only way to be vegan is vegan. That’s not the case. Vegans can still have meat (and dairy) without feeling guilty. They can still eat eggs without being a hedonist. They can still eat fish without being a fishphobe. They can still eat vegetables without being a glutton.
The concept of veganism is really broad. Some people have the label vegan for one reason or another, but if you’ve been to a vegan restaurant you’ll see that there are a huge variety of types of plant-based foods that go into that diet. Also, many vegans are lactose intolerant and/or gluten intolerant. That’s not the case for everyone. Also, some vegans have no idea what they are on a vegan diet, so they just say vegan.
Vegetarianism is not the same as veganism. Vegans are people who eat vegetables on a vegan diet. That makes sense, because it’s just as much a part of everyday life as eating meat. However, vegetarians eat meat because it’s good for them. The same is true for vegans.
If you are a vegan you are not necessarily vegan and vice versa. Although the two are synonymous, there are a few key differences. Vegans do not consume animal products or poultry. Vegans are not averse to eating a variety of different types of meat, fish, eggs, dairy, and other products. Vegans also don’t eat eggs, dairy, or eggs products. Vegans are not opposed to nuts, seeds, and other plant-based proteins.
Vegans are not vegetarian or vegetarian. That would be the same as a meat-eater. Vegans are an umbrella term that only covers people who abstain from the consumption of animal products. Vegans are not technically a subset of meat-eaters which is what vegans are, since some vegans do eat meat. Some vegans abstain from the consumption of animal products, but most don’t. (As an aside: I’m a vegan myself.
